Deaf Austin Theatre premieres the first American Sign Language and spoken English production of Moisés Kaufman's The Laramie Project with a deaf and hearing cast. This thought-provoking documentary play exploring the aftermath of the tragic 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay college student in Laramie, Wyoming, is directed by Jules Dameron.

Founded in 2004 by Ellen Bartel, Dance Carousel – 40 dances in 40 minutes – is being re-introduced into the community after an 11-year hiatus. Two different programs will each showcase the work of ten different choreographers; each choreographer will create four one-minute dances that will be shown in a round, amounting to 40 minutes of dance. This is, of course, Yasmina Reza's arch comedy that asks poignant questions about the meaning of art and friendship. Directed by Steven Pounders for Penfold Theatre, and featuring performances by Ryan Crowder, Nathan Jerkins, and Kareem Badr.

"When Aiden first meets Jack, it’s through the transactional world of gay male hookup apps – Aiden’s first exploration since transitioning. But as the two spend more time together, things get complicated - they must navigate their grief, recovery, and trauma, and find out if they can hold one another’s human messiness." This is the world premiere of a new musical, commissioned by Ground Floor Theatre, with book by Lane Michael Stanley, music and lyrics by Tova Katz, and starring Justin P. Lopez and Laura Leo Kelly. Directed by Trace Turner, with musical direction by Trey Shonkwiler. Age recommendation: 18 and older, due to brief nudity, depictions of sex, and the subjects of addiction and recovery.

Austin Rainbow Theatre presents the regional premiere of Chris Rivera’s story of navigating queer relationships in modern culture, told from a Latiné perspective. The company brings the original production direct from New York City.
